Databases and Catalogues.
Data Collection and Sharing
MICYRN has identified, collected and maintains a number of databases that provide researchers with information and contacts quickly and efficiently. Reliable reporting and sharing of information assists investigators in their studies.
Catalogue of Child, Maternal and Family COVID-19 Studies in Canada
A database of COVID-19 child, maternal, and family studies in Canada is available online. Investigators can add studies and update current entries in this extensive directory developed to foster collaboration and support the sharing of knowledge.
MICYRN and IHDCYH collaborated to create a catalogue of all on-going COVID-19 research in Canada related to mothers, children and families to inform the Chief Science Advisor's Task Force on COVID-19 in Children of active research efforts. This initiative resulted in a rich catalogue and arguably one of the first national COVID-19 study database of its kind. MICYRN will update and sustain the maternal, child and family COVID-19 study database as a public informational resource to raise awareness of current studies, foster collaboration, and support sharing of knowledge. The public catalogue includes all studies that consented to public display.
Investigators with studies in the catalogue can update details at any time. Do you have a study not yet included? Please email Andrea Rudy for access and a PI account. Investigators with an account who would like to update their studies, please click HERE.
Study Start-Up Repository
The Study Start-Up Repository is a database of all the local requirements at each MICYRN member institution to conduct a research study. Repository documents include, but are not limited to, site intake processes; local ethics requirements, including institution specific forms; the contract process; vendor start up (this includes pharmacy, lab, diagnostic imaging, and other items); and operational, institutional, and administrative approvals.
CTU Database
The CTU (Clinical Trials Unit) database was created to determine site readiness registration for the units. CTC members collectively agreed on a set of criteria that would be required to consider a unit fully ready to participate as a site in both academic- and industry-sponsored clinical trials. The CTU database is accessible to MICYRN members to use as a resource for future planning of clinical trials and access to potential shared collaborative resources. For more information, contact Breanne Stewart.
National Contact Centre
MICYRN provides consultation and support to individuals from industry, member sites, and other research stakeholders. If you have a research related inquiry, please fill out our contact form.
Clinical Trials Registry Data
In order to assess the current Canadian landscape of both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored child health clinical trials conducted over a six-year period, MICYRN undertook an analysis of 2124 trials registered on clinicaltrials.gov. An initial report in 2020 analyzed trials between 2015-2019. In 2021, trials from 2020 were included.
