The Coordinating Centre
MICYRN provides researchers working on non-clinical trial studies access to a number of support services and resources, including engagement and communications, workshop support, and access to advisory groups through the Coordinating Centre. Smaller organizations in greater need of support can enter a service agreement partnership. Our service agreement partners receive a broader range of support and staffing solutions.
Engagement and Communications
The following services may be available for investigators at contributing member organizations.
Investigators’ studies, results, awards, and grants broadcasted and communicated to the greater community to increase exposure
Development of website and training on content creation and annual refresh
Establish social media accounts and provide initial activity and promotion
Review of organization in quarterly newsletters highlighting areas of achievement
Print material development for any multi-organization initiatives or studies
Access to teleconference services and meeting organization for all working groups
Conference and Workshop Support
The following are the three areas of expertise MICYRN could offer through a Memorandum of Understanding.
Administrative
May act as the first point of contact
Schedule and coordinate regular, urgent and ad hoc meetings
Manage attendee RSVPs, arranging travel reimbursement, accommodation, catering, secretarial meeting support, pre-workshop surveys, and post-workshop evaluation
Maintain meeting and conference contacts
Support the production of a variety of documents including correspondence, memos, meeting agendas and minutes, ensuring these are circulated, posted and available
Process accounts receivable and payable expenses
Provide other logistical support
Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
Create and execute the overall communications plan
Maintain database of key external stakeholders
Develop stakeholder management and engagement plan, leveraging existing stakeholder audiences
Design and maintain web and social media presence
Support the public outreach activities of the network
Design, format and write copy for regular newsletters and reports of the network to various stakeholders
Draft project documentation such as policies, procedures, guidelines, terms of reference, resource manuals, and program notes
Write, edit and produce diverse communication materials including articles, newsletters, bulletins, web material, news releases, brochures, pamphlets, backgrounders, and other materials
Project and Executive Management
Support meetings, reporting, records storage, conference calls, and debriefs
Provide project management, program planning and evaluation services
Support the implementation of workflow processes
Manage the financial account and contractor procurement process
Oversee the financial tracking and reporting requirements, liaising with key finance stakeholders as needed
Management of HR affairs of the Coordinating Centre
Advisory Groups
MICYRN’s working groups provide guidance and recommendations on a number of maternal and child health research issues.
Clinical Trials Consortium
The CTC provides leadership and supports initiatives to enhance Canadian child health through increased access to high-quality clinical trials supported by an efficient, safe, and family-centered national infrastructure.
Industry partners, academic collaborators, investigators, and study teams can access the CTC for input on their studies.
Research Institute Directors’ Forum
The RI Directors’ Forum meets monthly to discuss opportunities and obstacles facing the maternal and child health research institutes across Canada.
Network of Lawyers
A group of lawyers at member sites is working to streamline contract processes across the provinces and expedite multi-jurisdictional studies.
