Lifelong learning and quality education opportunities.
Training and Learning
MICYRN recognizes the importance of providing training and learning opportunities to investigators through all stages of their careers. The Network continues to expand its offerings, in addition to promoting opportunities provided by partners.
Webinars
As a number of events, conferences and meetings moved online in 2021, MICYRN began hosting webinars and presentations to bring research and information directly to our community. Recordings of a number of these webinars can be viewed below.

CHEER Training Modules
By sharing knowledge about ethics review across the child health research community, we can generate greater efficiencies and raise ethical standards. CHEER’s Research Ethics and Education Program provides educational opportunities for researchers, administrators, REBs, patients and families and others to support high-quality and efficient REB reviews. Examples of educational opportunities include child health research ethics educational modules and webinars; and educational supports to improve the efficiency and quality of REB reviews. This addresses common issues and challenges in research ethics review for child health research, including ethical implications associated with study design, and supports for patients and family members participating on REBs.
Presentation Opportunities
Trainees and new investigators are the future of maternal and pediatric health research in Canada. MICYRN’s Coordinating Centre has enabled the continued success of organizations that foster the work of emerging investigators and new trainees, ensuring more funds can be directed towards grants. Additional in-kind assistance supported opportunities to present original work and network with colleagues.
The Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting and Pediatric Resident Research Competition ensuring these groups are able to continue providing learning opportunities, services and funding for maternal and child health researchers at the early stages of their careers.
EnRICH
The work of the EnRICH Research Group and Network aims to enhance child health through the discovery of innovative methods that will transform the way we design, conduct and report child health clinical research.
MICYRN is committed to promoting the EnRICH program and ensuring these education and learning opportunities are highlighted to the research community.
