CHEER Research Ethics Education Modules
The Canadian Collaboration for Child Health: Efficiency and Excellence in the Ethics Review of Research (CHEER) is a five-year, CIHR-funded initiative to improve child health in Canada by streamlining the research ethics review of multi-site child health studies. The goal of the project is to achieve a single research ethics board review for multi-site child health research projects conducted across the country.
An important component of CHEER is developing a research ethics education program, which will include five research ethics educational modules, each approximately 35-45 minutes in length. These modules will provide lasting high-quality education focusing on topics and information essential to guiding the ethical conduct of child health research and the effective research ethics review of child health studies. With a particular focus on topics relevant to child health research ethics, the modules will cover the below areas:
Participant assent and consent
Study design
Participant recruitment
Data (e.g., data sharing and privacy, among other topics)
Patient and public engagement
If you are interested in contributing to the content for one or more of the above CHEER research ethics education modules, please reply to the brief survey below by August 9th, 2021.
