Canada Summer Job - Communications Assistant (16 weeks)
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a 16-week position running from May to August. You should be available to work full-time during the 16-week period.
The rate of pay is $20 per hour and is non-negotiable.
Position can be remote from anywhere in Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working with the Communications Manager, assist with developing corporate and program-specific communications plans, tools and materials that support strategic organizational goals and help our internal and external audiences stay informed and engaged.
• Create clear and compelling content and key messages that expand the reach and awareness of MICYRN’s work. This may include for our annual and program reports, e-newsletters, website, social media platforms, letters of support, and committee and Board meeting materials.
• Support correct usage and increased awareness of the MICYRN brand. Act as an internal subject matter expert in helping colleagues apply the MICYRN brand correctly. Lead the updating of branded materials, as required, ensuring our organization’s voice is consistent and compelling across all platforms.
• Assist staff by reviewing and making recommendations for internal and external presentations for a variety of audiences, ensuring professional and consistent representation of the MICYRN brand and organizational goals.
• Oversee and manage content and updates on the corporate website micyrn.ca, as well as on related/owned program websites.
• Assist with the development and distribution of e-newsletters. Work with team members from across our programs to gather information, revise and organize content, incorporate feedback, and distribute.
• Assist with MICYRN’s social medial strategy. Develop, monitor and grow MICYRN’s social presence on LinkedIn, Facebook and other social channels as identified, supporting organizational goals through the development of social media content and appropriate amplification.
• Develop materials to publicize and promote activities and events, including website and email communications, sponsorship and information/registration materials for conferences such as the Perinatal Child Health Research Meeting Perinatal & Child Health Research Annual Meetings (perinatalchildhealthresearch.ca)
